Supermai Hydropower Limited, established on 27th Ashoj 2071, is a hydropower company committed to developing and operating hydropower projects in Nepal. The company is supported by a team of experienced professionals and business leaders with knowledge and experience in hydropower development, management, finance, engineering, education, and public affairs. The company is committed to maintaining good corporate governance, transparency, accountability, and professional management. It is my pleasure to share the progress and achievements of Supermai Hydropower Limited with our valued shareholders, stakeholders, and well-wishers.
Our first and pilot project, the Supermai Hydropower Project 7.8 MW, achieved its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on 11th Kartik 2075. The project was completed and brought into operation 21 months ahead of its scheduled completion period. This achievement reflects the dedication, teamwork, and commitment of our management, employees, contractors, consultants, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders. In recognition of the early completion of the project, the company received special recognition from the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.
Since commencing commercial operation, the project has maintained good operational and financial performance and has remained profitable since Fiscal Year 2076/77. We are also proud to have consistently shared the benefits of this performance with our shareholders through dividend distributions. The company distributed 7.16% Cash Dividend in F.Y. 2076/77, 11.5% Cash Dividend in F.Y. 2077/78, 30% in F.Y. 2078/79, 5.63% cash dividend and 7% bonus shares in F.Y. 2080/81, and 20% bonus shares in F.Y. 2081/82.
As Nepal’s demand for reliable and sustainable energy continues to grow, we see significant opportunities in the hydropower sector. Our focus will remain on developing and operating hydropower projects in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. We will continue to use modern technology, strengthen our technical and management capabilities, and make the best possible use of available resources.
